Joe became a Principal at the practice in 2013 and enjoys the challenge this brings. Joe enjoys all aspects of general dentistry but has a particular interest in improving people’s smiles.

Joe has recently completed a Certificate in Postgraduate Dental Studies, and is now studying for a Masters in Restorative & Aesthetic Dentistry at Manchester University

In his spare time, Joe likes to play golf and get out on his bike, as well as going skiing in the winter.

Ben Jones

Ben graduated from Guy’s Hospital, London in 1999 and has gone on to achieve a Diploma in Dental Studies from Bristol University. He is an experienced general dental practitioner and also has previous experience working at Torbay Hospital treating complex cases and cancer rehabiliation.
Ben is a practice principal and his aim is for the practice to educate our patients to prevent dental disease. Ben takes referrals for complex dentistry, difficult dentures and dental implants.

Chris Harper

Chris qualified from Bristol University in 2009 and has been working in Devon since then in general practice while also teaching dental students for Peninsula University. Chris is passionate about providing high quality dentistry and particularly enjoys planning and undertaking complex restorative cases. He uses high power magnifying loupes for all examinations and treatments to ensure any problems can be diagnosed early and provide the best possible care.

Outside of dentistry his time is predominantly dedicated to his wife Jemma and children Josh, Larissa and Molly however he has over recent years cultivated a passion for personal development and multiple elements of general well-being. His morning routine involves Tai Chi and meditation to help prepare him for the the daily rush of both dentistry and family life.  He has lectured on time and attention management and had multiple articles published in national magazines including explaining the benefits of reducing sugar intake to improve both dental and general health.

Emily Holroyd

Emily has been with Pinhoe Dental Centre since 2004 after qualifying from Barts and The London. Emily is committed to continuing development and obtained the Diploma of Membership of Joint Dental Faculties in 2010. She is currently studying towards a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry at The Royal College of Surgeons in London.

Emily enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, particularly restorative dentistry, and aims to provide a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in the surgery.

Emily has volunteered in Tanzania with dental charity Bridge2Aid, providing emergency dental treatment and teaching Tanzanian healthcare workers how to extract teeth.

Outside of dentistry Emily enjoys art, Scandinavian design, baking and photography.

Alex Marcos

Alex qualified from Madrid University in 2009 and moved permanently to England in 2010.

Alex started at Pinhoe Dental Centre in 2016.

In his spare time he enjoys playing Water Polo

Erica Clatworthy

Erica qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 2004 and now works at Pinhoe Dental Centre seeing private patients. Her passion for oral health is clear in her clinical sessions and she has managed to build a good rapport with her patients.

Erica gained a City & Guilds teaching certificate in December 2009 and teaches the Certificate In Oral Health to Dental nurses. Erica has since gained further training to enable her to prescribe Radiographs and is a trained smoking cessation adviser.

Elliott Dearsly

Elliott qualified as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist from the University of Birmingham in 2018 and has since worked in general dental practice. Elliott enjoys all aspects of dentistry within his scope of practice, in addition to promoting good oral health.

Outside of dentistry Elliott enjoys painting portraits and regularly goes white water kayaking on the river dart.  

Claire Ebert

Claire qualified from the University of Leeds in 2015 and worked in West Sussex before moving to Devon in 2016.

Claire is enthusiastic in all aspects of dentistry and keeps herself up to date with modern and minimally invasive techniques to ensure the best care for her patients. She has completed numerous courses to be able to offer a broad range of treatments, including advanced treatment for tooth-wear, teeth straightening and restoring dental implants.

Claire’s passion lies in non-surgical facial aesthetic treatments. She is committed to achieving natural looking results to improve a persons’ confidence on the inside by making small ‘tweakments’ on the outside. Claire is trained in a full range of aesthetic treatments from anti-wrinkle treatment to facial fillers and skin treatment.

In her spare time, Claire enjoys the beautiful Devon outdoors, keeps fit at the gym and skis in the winter.

Vicky Foster

Vicky qualified as a hygiene therapist from the University of Sheffield in 2014 but has worked at Pinhoe Dental Centre since 2007 where she completed her dental nurse and oral health educator training.

Vicky enjoys all aspects of her scope of practice especially providing treatment for anxious patients. She has developed her skills by working at the hospital as part of the Community Dental Service, where she treats lots of anxious children and special care patients.

Vicky is also qualified to carry out tooth whitening under the prescription of a dentist.
